The primary objective of this program is to increase the understanding and awareness of accounting and business career opportunities among high school minority youth in the public and private school system. The SLP Program is seeking 45 high school students who will enter 10th, 11th, and 12th in the Fall 2012.

The UC Irvine Annual Black Women’s Conference will be held on April 14th-15th, 2012. The conference if for sophomores and/or juniors female students from underrepresented communities. During this stay-over conference the 100 Black College Women board members will conduct informative workshops and bonding activities, for both UC Irvine students, and the high school ladies. These workshops and activities aim to connect the high school ladies and UC Irvine ladies to encourage their interest in higher education and share vital information concerning African American women for a fun, yet educational weekend experience. There will be transportation, several meals provided over the course of the weekend as well as room & board- All of which will be completely FREE for the ladies who choose to participate this year.
