| Seattle University's Sullivan Leadership Award - Deadline November 15, 2009. Sullivan Leaders are selected on the basis of demonstrated service, leadership, and academic achievement to receive full tuition, room and meals for each of four years of undergraduate study at Seattle University. Applications available at www.seattleu.edu/sullivan MetroPCS Community Scholars Program – Deadline November 25, 2009. MetroPCS is awarding $2,500 scholarships to high school seniors who plan to continue education in college or university programs. This scholarship is available to students who have demonstrated exceptional involvement in volunteerism and community service, in addition to academics and other criteria. Scholarships are offered for full-time study at an accredited two or four year institution of the student’s choice. In addition, there will be a[ a $25,000 national scholarship to one lucky winner. All winners of the $2,500 scholarships will be eligible to receive the MetroPCS national scholarship. Applications available on-line at www.metropcs.com/scholarships Hispanic Heritage Foundation Grant – Deadline November 30, 2009. This grant is available to Hispanic students planning to attend a university in the fall. The will be awarding 16 educational grants to Hispanic students nationwide. The Grand Prize winner will win a $10,000 Educational Grant. Fifteen other students will also have the opportunity to win $1,000 each. Submissions of your applications must include a short essay (500 words or less) on: “How can education impact the heritage of Hispanic generations to come?” Applications can be submitted on-line: www.colgate.com/haztau President’s Scholars Program at California State University, Long Beach-Deadline January 4, 2010. The program offers an exceptional scholarship package designated for qualifying California high school valedictorians or Nation scholars. To be considered, you must submit a CSU application to the university on line at www.csumentor.edu no later than Monday November 30, 2009. The application is available online at www.csulb.edu/presidents_scholars/student_application. If you are selected as a President’s Scholar, your scholarship will be renewable for up to eight semesters of undergraduate study.
Gates Millennium Scholarship – Deadline January 11, 2010. GMS has opened the on-line scholarship application for the 2010 selection process. One thousand students will be selected based on the following eligibility criteria:
-Are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American
-Are a citizen/legal permanent resident or national of the United States
-Have attained a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.3 on an 4.0 scale or earned GED
-Will be enrolling for the first time at U.S. accredited college or university as full-time, degree seeking first year student in the Fall of 2009
-Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities
-Meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria
-Have all three required forms (nominee Personal Information Form, Nominator Form and Recommender Form) completed and submitted by the deadline.
-On-line applications are highly recommended and should be submitted at www.gmsp.org.
Burger King Scholars- Deadline February 1, 2010. $1,000 scholarships available to all eligible high school seniors. Applicants must be high school seniors who: -Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
-Work part-time a minimum of 10 hours per week or 40 weeks per year
-Are actively involved in community service activities
-Demonstrate financial need
-Plan to enroll in an accredited two/or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school by Fall of the application year

Access Key: BKS National Science Foundation Scholarship at Marist College – Deadline February 15, 2010. The Marist College NSF Scholarship is being offered to academically talented students who wish to major in Computer Science or Information Technology and Systems. The criteria for selection will include: -Strength of curriculum and academic performance throughout high school
-Standardized test scores
-Supplemental essay describing why the student would be a good candidate for this program and Marist College
-Interview with the dean from the School of Computer Science and mathematics
-Meeting demonstrated financial need requirements
-Proof of U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency
-Declaration of Computer Science or Information Technology and Systems as program of study
-Full-time enrollment at Marist starting Fall 2010

Clippers Stay In School Scholarship – Deadline Friday February 19, 2010. Scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each will be awarded to four graduating seniors. Applicants will be reviewed using the following criteria: academic achievement, extracurricular activities, a letter of recommendation and the content of a student essay on the topic, “Why College is important to Me.” Eligible students must have plans to enroll in a four-year college or university in the Fall of 2010. U.S Bank Internet Scholarship Program – Deadline March 30, 2009. This year, U.S. Bank will award forty $1,000 scholarships. High school seniors planning to enroll next fall at an eligible four-year college or university are eligible to apply. Scholarship award recipients selected through a random drawing process.
