Driving and parking onto the campus is a privilege not a right. Parking Permits must be displayed. Any vehicle that does not have a Parking Permit displayed, or parked in a space that is in violation of the parking permit contract, will be subject to citation, possible revocation of the student’s parking privilege and/or towing of the student’s vehicle at the student’s expense.
- Parking Permit enforcement hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
- A student parking permit limits parking to the student lot/stalls dedicated for students only. Student cars parked in the faculty lot or other designated parking spaces will be towed.
- Examples of violations include, but are not limited to, reckless and/or unsafe driving practices involving the use of your vehicle.
- The district retains the authority to conduct routine patrol of the student parking lots and inspections of the exteriors and visible interiors of student automobiles on school property.
- The district may inspect the interior of student automobiles whenever school authority has reasonable suspicions to believe illegal or unauthorized materials are contained inside the automobile. Such patrols and inspections will be conducted without notice, without student consent and without a search warrant. If student fails to provide access to the interior of the car upon request by a school official, the student will be subject to disciplinary action and the revocation of parking privilege.
- The school is NOT responsible for the vehicle or its contents. Student is advised to leave vehicle(s) locked at all times.
- Once parked, student is not permitted to remain in the car, or return to the parking lot during school hours without authorization from the administration.
- The parking lot is a restricted area. There is to be no loitering or visitation in the parking lot without permission from administration.
Failure to adhere to the above conditions places your vehicle subject to a citation. (Section 21113 (a) CVC), a revocation of your campus driving privileges, and other discipline consequences as outlined in the John Muir High School Student Code of Conduct. |
